Ayurvedic diet is based on the idea that food can be used as medicine to maintain good health and prevent diseases. In Ayurveda, it is believed that each day is divided into specific time intervals, during which different organs in our body are at their peak performance. To optimize our health and prevent disease, it is important to understand our body’s natural rhythms and follow an Ayurvedic diet accordingly. Here is a breakdown of the 12 important organs and their corresponding time intervals.
The Human Body Time Table according to Ayurvedic Diet
TIME | ORGAN | REMARKS |
3 – 5 AM | Lungs | Morning ozone can boost energy with breathing exercises, yoga, and meditation. |
5 – 7 AM | Large Intestine | Waking up during this time can prevent constipation, and bathing with cold water can prevent nervous debility. |
7 – 9 AM | Stomach | Breakfast should be completed by this time. |
9 – 11 AM | Spleen | Avoid eating or drinking anything during this time, including water, as it can increase body temperature and fatigue, reduce digestion power, and cause palpitation and drowsiness in diabetic patients. |
11 – 1 PM | Heart | Drink only water; avoid hard work and sleep during this time. High CO2 levels increase risk of heart attack, stroke, pain. Hospitals take extra caution for heart/diabetic patients. |
1 – 3 PM | Small Intestine | After finishing lunch during this time, 5 minutes of rest can be taken just by closing eyes. Sleep shall be avoided. |
3 – 5 PM | Urinary Bladder | It is the right time for coffee, tea or juice etc. |
5 -7 PM | Kidney | This is the time to relax from routine work, otherwise renal failure or urinary infection may cause trouble. |
7 – 9 PM | Heart Wall | Supper should have been finished during this hour. Otherwise, palpitation or chest pain may arise. |
9 – 11 PM | Overall Body | This is the time to recharge the organs that worked since morning. So one shall go down to sleep and avoid reading books, watching TV or working with office files. |
11 – 1 AM | Gall Bladder | One must sleep during this time otherwise one will not have any energy for next day’s work. |
1 – 3 AM | Liver | This is the time for deep sleep. Otherwise it will affect eye-sight and body irritation. |
